Just Hanging Around.
In an age marked by narcistic self-interest and post-everything
cynicism, even tried and true maxims can become hackneyed clichés
ripe for the mocking. And yet some people, whole companies even, refuse
to accept this notion. For them it's not just a matter of pride, it's a
matter of principle. That's where Skyline Business Forms comes in.
When a client came to the Denver-based forms manufacturer
on the verge of panic trying to find someone to manufacture a multi-purpose
rear-view mirror hanger, and do it in just over two weeks, they didn't
panic. They simply rolled up their sleeves and went to work.
"We look at ourselves as very innovative," said Tim
Borus, one of Skyline's sales supervisors. "If the customer wants something
unique, we are willing to jump in and do what it takes."
Old-fashioned? Maybe. But where other companies backed
away from the project, Skyline Business Forms, rose to the challenge.
The customer, Ultimate Electronics, a national electronics
retailer, wanted a form to act as a work order holder/key tag slip that
could hang from a rear-view mirror.
And although the company already had a design, which
was created by Lance Brown, weeks of searching for a manufacturer to produce
the piece had gone unrewarded.
When they finally found Skyline Business Forms, Gary
Campbell, a Skyline production estimator, says the client was nearly in
a state of panic.
"They needed a carton for some up-coming training
sessions in their corporate offices in Minnesota," explained Campbell.
"And they expected it to be done in two weeks." With the help of Skyline's
Jeff Robertson, the requirement was satisfied. "I believe it was even a
day early," Campbell noted.
As much as quality customer service is a key part
of the way Skyline Business Forms operates, Borus noted that it's not the
only thing Skyline has going for it.
"I'd like to think it was our experience and our
ability to have several departments work together to resolve a situation,
as well," he said.
